Dear Windom Residents,

We are making a NEW call for candidates starting tonight May 25th through Friday, June 3rd at 12NOON.   Individuals from diverse backgrounds are highly encouraged to run.

Our 2022 Board Elections had to be postponed due to a lack of an in-person membership quorum.

If you are interested in serving on the Board, please email us the following to windomcommunity@gmail.com by Friday, June 3rd at 12NOON.

  • Your complete name and address.

  • A candidate statement explaining the following:

    • Why are you interested in serving on the Board?

    • What experience and expertise do you bring to the Board?

    • How would you help the Board increase its outreach to neighborhood residents?

Your name, address, and candidate statement must be emailed to windomcommunity@gmail.com by 12Noon Friday, June 3rd.

WCC has organized a Special Elections Board Meeting via ZOOM for Friday, June 10, 2022, from 7 pm - 7:30 pm to ratify the results of a new electronic election.

You must be present at the June 10th Special Elections Meeting to secure a seat.

We have moved our neighborhood Board elections to an electronic voting format with the option to submit a paper ballot for those who can't access the e-ballot.

Electronic voting via an e-ballot GOOGLE Forms will be made available starting June 3rd in the afternoon. Proof of residency will need to be uploaded to the Google Forms e-ballot.

The paper ballot will be uploaded to this page on June 3rd and can be printed delivered to 5404 Wentworth Avenue along with proof of Windom neighborhood residency no later than June 10th.

Eligibility for membership is defined below as any individual who is at least 18 years old and is:
•    A resident in the neighborhood; or,
•    An owner or business lessee of real estate property in the neighborhood; or,
•    The designated representative of a nonprofit, educational organization in the neighborhood.

New Board Members will be seated at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting on July 14th.

We have 5 [two-year term] Board seats up for election at this time and are accepting applicants for the ballot. Two of the five seats are incumbent candidates who wish to return to serve.

We encourage you to learn, as much as you can, about serving on our Board.

NOTE:  Due to WCC’s new neighborhood engagement contract requirements with the City of Minneapolis, Board members will spend a minimum of 10 volunteer hours per month serving the Windom neighborhood.  Additional hours may be required serving on committees and assisting with planning and implementing various events.

We offer two easy ways learn about serving WCC as a Board member below:
